On 23 May 2020, the City of Methuen, Massachusetts held a Memorial Day cemetery service (minus the parade), that was organized and run by American Legion Post 122, Methuen, MA.

Lieutenant Colonel Xiong was among other 35,000+ Hmong soldiers who fought during the CIA war, against the Lao and Vietnamese communist forces in Laos from 1961 to 1975.
