We are thrilled to announce that Chris Dushane has been promoted to the rank of Commander (Navy) and appointed as the Chief of Staff of the United States National Defense Corps (USNDC), effective February 15, 2024.
Commander Dushane joined the United States National Defense Corps (USNDC) in April 2023 and has been working tirelessly for the USNDC on the Task Force: Obtain Veteran Status and other tasks.
Prior to joining the United States National Defense Corps (USNDC), Commander Dushane spent ten years in the United States Navy, attached to Attack Squadron 27 onboard the U.S.S. Carl Vinson participating in Operation Earnest Will before honorably discharging from the navy in 1995 AS A Second Class Petty Officer. He then spent 20 years as a Probation Officer for Tulare County, California. He retired in 2018 as a Supervising Probation Officer. He was also the Department Range master/Firearms Instructor, Simmuntions Instructor utilizing live fire scenario based tactical training and was also the Department Armorer. After retirement, he joined The American Legion Sierra Post 785, where he has been the Post Service Officer, Sargent at Arms, First Vice Commander and currently the Post Commander and The American Legion District 15 Service Officer. It was through his role as Post Service Officer that he met SGU members and began trying to help them get VA benefits. He met Lieutenant General Baumann at an SGU function shortly before joining the USNDC.
