Dear Mrs Yang,
The United States National Defense Corps, upon the death of Major Youa Vang Yang, extends our deepest sympathy to you, his family, his loved ones and his friends.
He is remembered for his kindness and loyalty as a Hmong Leader, SGU Soldier, and a dedicated member of the United States National Defense Corps. His last assignment in the United States National Defense Corps was as the Senior Advisor.
During the Secret War in Laos he fought as a Soldier in the US Allies SGU Special Forces. He was, along with thousands of Hmong SGU Soldiers, willing to sacrifice his life fighting the North Vietnamese Army invaders and their communist partners, the Pathet Lao. He and his fellow Soldiers engaged in disrupting enemy supplies moving down the Ho Chi Minh Trail; rescued downed US pilots; and defended US Radar Installations that guided US Air Force and Navy Pilots to make accurate ‘bomb runs’ over the Republic of Viet Nam.
He shared with us his proud service as a Supply Officer. His proudest duty, in the Secret War, was his assignment to protect the Honorable General Yang Pao’s family.
His legacy is that of a proud US Allies SGU Special Forces Soldier who loved his homeland, Laos, and was a loyal Citizen of the United States of America.
May God smile upon Major Youa Vang Yang. May God help you, his family, his loved ones and all of us to pass through the grief we share.
On behalf of all United States National Defense Corps members, please accept our most sincere condolences.
